It has been announced that the low-cost airline Whizz Air is to offer flights between London and Burgas in Bulgaria during the winter.

The firm stated that it will offer a service for travellers three times a week, landing at Luton airport, reports novinite.com.

Such a service will be offered onboard the 180-seat Airbus 320 planes, the publication stated.

Since the start of 2006, the company said that it has been operating a base located in Sofia. It was the first company to make inroads into the Bulgarian market.

Additionally, it has added Varna and Burgas to this destination, news that may be of interest to potential property investors in the Black Sea area.

Company data also shows that cheaper airlines make up around 40-50% of the overall airport market in Bulgaria.
