The Bulgarian property market is still increasing in value despite not being as "lucrative" as it once was, according to the director of an overseas property company.

Les Calvert, director of Property Abroad, said that while development of Bulgaria "won't go on forever", prices in the market are still climbing.

"It is not as lucrative as it was in the early stages but the market is still increasing," he said, adding that those investors who acted in the early stages of the country's development as an overseas property hotspot were "wise".

However, he also said that people investing in property in Bulgaria are welcomed "with open arms", as they bring money to the local economy.

"In a new developing country where the wages have been low for a long time, people come in with lots of money and locals are loving it," Mr Calvert said.
