The resorts of Kavarna and Balchik have joined Golden Sands and St Konstantin as desirable locations for those looking for second homes in the eastern European country, reports Sofia Echo.
Research from imot.bg revealed that demand for holiday homes in these regions rose between 40 and 50 per cent over the summer months of 2007 when compared to 2006.
The Paris Daily suggests that the increased interest in the resorts to the north of the Black Sea is due to a solid infrastructure, close proximity to Varna and a move towards luxury developments.
Meanwhile, Dominic Pickering, chief operating officer at MRI Overseas Property recently claimed that six months on from joining the EU Bulgaria is "booming" as a tourist destination.
"Bulgaria's growing tourism industry underpins demand for rental properties in its ski and beach resorts," he explained
